The working title of this session is: Ensuring Safety of Citizenís and Emergency Responders through Rapid Alert Chain Communications. Considering that important issues are at stake during a crisis (such as citizenís safety, environment protection, preservation of cultural heritage or saving economic assets) one of the key points in Environmental Risk Management (ERM), is rapidity and efficiency in defining and deploying a suited response to the crisis. Besides means and resources, this depends on reliable alert chain communications that will support fast and appropriate decision making and effective coordination to allow for an optimal use of the available resources and to minimise potential risk impact.
