The Commission is now organising a meeting on 8 November 2004 in Brussels, in order to discuss the Work Programme of the Preparatory Action for 2005 with the concerned Research Community.
If you are interested in participating in this meeting, please contact email@example.com by October 20, 2004.
With the first year of the Preparatory Action on Security Research (PASR 2004) now coming to an end, the evaluation of responses to the first call for proposals has been completed and the Commission is in the process of negotiating the contracts of selected projects.
It is now time to prepare for the 2005 Work Programme and the next call.
According to Herbert von Bose, Head of Unit for Security Research at the Commissionís DG Research, and Jacques Bus, Head of Unit for ICT for Trust and Security at the Commissionís DG Information Society, the Work Programme consultation in November is to include a maximum of 100 participants. The Commission will therefore have select participants on the basis of the requests it has received by 20 October 2004.
The objective, say Mr. Bus and Mr. von Bose, is to bring a balanced selection of interested parties together from the various security research domains, while also ensuring a balanced geographical representation. An agenda will be forwarded to participants once the selection has been completed.
